$15 Trillion Debt by 2014 using Bush's own numbers. Bush says he will cut the debt in half by 2009 but, by his own numbers, he will add over $600 Billion to the debt in 2009 just before the boomers start to retire.

Only twice have presidents been trailing challengers at this point in an election year. In 1948, Harry Truman managed to come back and win. In 1976, Gerald Ford didn't.
