Name one bill where Kerry's vote was influenced by a small percentage of the total money he's raised which came from from lobbyists. You'll never find one and neither will the press or the Bushies because he wouldn't and never has been influenced by such monies.

If any of them asked him for something he didn't already agree with, he would return the check immediately. That is a struict rule in the campaign, It was the first thing they told me when I volunteered to raise $$ for them.

PS: Clark is a lobbyist. Edwards was a lawyer the Post called lobbyists. So are half the people in DC and almost every out of work DC politician. It doesn't mean as much as you think. Worse of all of them is Bush-cheney. They have taken it to a new level with the help of Delay. I would wager half their 140 million comes from special interests who actually get favors in return.

well now wait a minute

The reality, with our current system, is that money needs to be raised by government officials, we might as well accept it. I don't care that unions give money to some campaign or the other, really. The issue is whether these contributions can skew the voting to such a degree as to ensure the constituency gets screwed ala Bush. The BushCo pharma lobby and the disastrous budget busting medicare drug plan for example. Do we have any examples of Kerry screwing the entire constituency for his lobbyists? Thats what I would be interested in. Not that he takes money, but that he votes by it.
