We need to raise taxes on the rich and balance the books.
Rich people can get a tax break if they hire new workers. Otherwise, pay to play. Luxury taxes might also be a good idea unti we get rid of most of ths huge deficit. Also, we need to close down unnecessary military bases and start cutting there. John Kasich, a conservative Republican, recommended that tonight. The out of control military spending has to be slowed down. There is huge pork barrel spending mixed in the with the services we really need.

Government revenues, as a % of GDP, are at their lowest since 1950.

2005 budget. The national debt will equal 40% of the GDP.
