Well Grace, you can continue to live in your "thousand points of light" fantasy, but all you have to do to puncture it is walk through some downtown alleys. I've worked as a maintenance mechanic on public housing, and I've seen three generations of welfare recipients living under the same subsidized roof - but I never thought they were unfairly advantaged. Like you, I thought they were deprived. I've also worked directly with blind retarded young adults who would have LOVED to have an independent life, but it just wasn't in their cards. You're a pretty hard hearted person.
