Capital gains on the sale of a primary residence and what else?


Passive income gained through tax deferred investment plans, these include 401Ks, Annuities and the like... as well as real estate gains as you mention... and finally any gains in the forseeable future for many individual investors are likely untaxed due to capital losses from the bear market. Wages have none of these options.
