Hi Elmatator, Indeed the farm bloc seems to have incredible power in Japan,the US, the EU. The governments don't mind blocking off many poor countries' agricultural products, denying those countries one of their few chances to advance. A more prosperous world would benefit everyone but as usual those governments can't see very far. In my close to 50 years of investing I've seen several waves of articles about the imminent wonderful future of Brazil and each time I kind of looked around at Brazilian stocks, but wound up not buying.
