I have the same opinion. How many could get an early out of the service because they want to run for political office. if true...

As for Bush. he joined his choice of the military, trained to fly these planes and could have been activiated at any time.. He also made up the drills he lost.. no one points out that prior to vietnam and during the early part of Vietnam many, many, men in the guard missed drills for various reasons and made up the drills at later dates. This was common practice. for some one to single out Bush is wrong , they should look at the whole guard structure back in 60's to make any assesment. I also thought the plane he was trained on was replaced by a new type and he was not qualified on the newer plane.. do not know if true.

Why are reports like this so difficult to verify. Are Army records incomplete, or hard to get to?

reports that he had his own Vietnam service terminated after four months in country and his enlistment shortened by six months are true.
