tejek,

re:and virtually no reliable intelligence on how Saddam Hussein would defend Baghdad

You know that might not be an intelligence failure - it may be Saddam's failure to have even developed a plan in the first place. :-)

Ted Re...WASHINGTON, Feb. 2 — The first official Army history of the Iraq war reveals that American forces were plagued by a "morass" of supply shortages, radios that could not reach far-flung troops, disappointing psychological operations and virtually no reliable intelligence on how Saddam Hussein would defend Baghdad.

Another ridiculous hack job by the NYT. I see they buried the things the army did right down on the bottom, and highlighted, what they considered ineptness, as if combat can be a perfectly choreographed situation. So what if the army had some troubles with logistics. The simple fact is,most people believe, the army did extremely well, and all of the negative naysaying from the left, isn't going to change that fact. In fact, all of the lefts efforts to tarnish the victory, will simply just push them further out in left field. The dems in Nov. will look like Dean in Iowa.
