Sig,

What was the previous estimate? I thought 0.28 was the consensus, with 0.29 being the high end.

NEW YORK, February 3 (New Ratings) — Analyst Steven M Fortuna of Prudential Financial maintains his "overweight" rating on Dell Inc (DELL), while raising his estimates for the company. The target price is set to $49.

Shares of Dell Inc, a global computer hardware products and related services provider, are currently trading at $33.52.

According to Prudential Financial’s research note published this morning, Dell is likely to report its 4Q03 earnings in-line with expectations. The analyst mentions that the company experienced robust demand trends across its various segments, despite the increased pricing pressures from its competitors during the quarter. Dell is well positioned to benefit from a potential enterprise IT spending upturn in the longer term, Prudential Financial says.

Dell is likely to announce flat earnings growth and a modest seasonal revenue decline guidance for 1Q FY05, as compared to 4Q FY04, the analyst says. However, Prudential Financial expects the company’s improved gross margins growth potential to partially boost its earnings growth momentum in FY05.

The EPS estimate for FY04 is $1.00, while the EPS estimate for FY05 has been raised from $1.20 to $1.21. The P/E estimates for FY04 and FY05 are 34.4x and 28.4x, respectively.
