war on poverty will never be won, there is no such utopian order. The vast majority of working poor, and welfare recipiants in this country have a living standard equll to many middle class citezens in 3rd world countries. They have cable TV, Housing, food programs(how many amaciated welfare reciepiants have you seen?). In many ways the issue revolves arround the Homeless, outside of them the poor have a susistence to live. There is no place in the constitution or bill of rights that guarentee prosparity to any one. The social systems set up by FDR were done so as a safty net not a trapoline.
