You forgot that the average American doesn't compete with the average Chinese/Indian. With a combined population of 2.5+ billion, the 300 million Americans are competing with the top 10% of Chindians!

If only life is that simple.

There are so many other things a society needs to provide, before a person can use their intelligence fully.

I know about india. It is very difficult for lot of people to get the opportunities, as the society is way behind in educating the masses.
Also it does not provide lot of opportunities to really use the people.
It uses human resources very poorly.
