In fact, the Democratic Pary has been quasi- isolationist for the last 30 years, and the Republican Pary has been internationalist. Segregation has been a dead issue, in both parties, for at least as long. Clinton had a number of faults, but at least he helped revive the Wilsonian streak among Democrats, as in Kosovo.
