Well, you and I are on the same wave length there, trouble is we now have too many people not PAYING THEIR FAIR SHARE of taxes and they got enough votes to vote for all the FREEBIES. I am afraid we are looking at the last decade or two of America as a Republic. To save it I would start as follows: 1. INSTALL TERM LIMITS FOR EVERYONE. 2. LIMIT election campaigns to 2 months TOTAL. When we can get reports on combat in real time now we dont need a year OR MORE of campaigning to learn of the candidates. 3. COMPLETELY ELIMINATE all donations for campaigns except the checkoff on your tax return. 4. Pass a 10% FLAT TAX on GROSS INCOME for ALL INCOME over $30,000. Those under get a free ride, those over PAY THEIR FAIR SHARE. 5. Pass a 1% VAT tax to pay for Medicare and SS replenshment. Since workers are shrinking this beats a payroll tax. 6. Increase the Marines to 4 full Combat Divisions. (one more then now) 7. Increase the "special forces" of all services by 20% While special forces require much more training they usually dont need exotic equipment. jdn
