Remember in the movie, after William S. Petersen is killed, his passive partner goes to the beautiful female snitch and aggressively says:"You're working for me now.

Never saw the movie.. But if you're implying that Bush is now working for the UN, I'd suggest you re-analyze that position.

Bush seems to be offering US support for other issues the UN wants to advance, in exchange for Annan FINALLY stepping up to the plate and getting involved in the political transition process.

As I recall, the Bush administration has ALWAYS asserted that the US/UK, via the CPA, and/or NATO should be the primary agencies responsible for coordinating security efforts in Iraq. The UN seemed to reject this strategy and attempted to have all forces placed under the UN's clumsy and inept control.

And when the UN rejected US efforts to increase the security of the UN headquarters, it was bombed..

This should have made Annan realize that the Islamo-Fascists have just as much reason to target them as they do the US. For the UN stands for exactly what they despise... Western values of democracy and secularism.
