<<Understandably, you and other Democrats are going to cling to those fictional surpluses>>

I don't cling to them. George Bush and his OMB cling to them. The Republican congress and their CBO cling to them, not me.

Meanwhile they both still use the same dishonest accounting tricks that you and Josh pretend to abhor when Democrats use them which means the coming deficits are far, far larger than the CBO or OMB say they are.

And that's because the President and congress won't use honest accounting methods.

Check the CBS MarketWatch campaign site for a little applet that will display the economic records from Ike to Bush II....

Accident? (Perhaps.)

Two big conservative votes for Kerry - His vote for welfare reform and his vote for Gramm-Rudman-Hollings.

"the surpluses were unsustainable and unrealistic because they were based on a US economy that was going through one of the greatest financial bubbles in history"

Why these guys can't see that is pretty telling imo. They act as though the bubble should have continued and the DOW should not be at 10,000,000 instead of 10,000. They give the President crap about corporate greed, when the greediest of greed ocurred when the greedy one was in power. Hypocricy reaches a new level every day with the die hard lefties.
