State's first lady quits NBC job

After months of soul-searching about how to balance her new role of California first lady with her career as a television journalist, Maria Shriver announced Tuesday that she is leaving NBC news.
“After numerous discussions with NBC and many of my colleagues throughout journalism whose opinions I sought and respect,” Shriver said in a prepared statement, “it is apparent to me that it would be difficult to maintain my journalistic credentials and still be an active First Lady of the State of California.”
