Brian I was thinking about your (im)moral proportionality problem vis-à-vis your stance on not eating meat given fresh water issues in many parts of the world. While I think you must agree that it is clear man is 'set up by nature' to eat meat, your argument certainly merits attention. While seriously pondering your position, I ran across the Harper's article The Oil We Eat in February’s issue. harpers.org

Wow, what an eye opener and points toward a number of critical issues were we all to become vegetarians, say. Have you read the article and if so what did you come away with?

Here's one incredible tidbit about the USA btw. Because of the ratio of energy put into the growing and processing of food we eat versus output, if the world all ate like us the planet's entire store of fossil fuels would be depleted in 7-10 years.
