This is why I always tell people it's always better to start a biz during a recession instead of a boom.

I remember reading this New Yorker article about this very thing. They chronicled all the various magazines that had been started during the toughest of economic times, most still around. Turns out the ones started during tough times had a phenomenal success rate whereas during every boom period 20x more magazines were started but most of them failed.
