I said it was the crucial symbol, and, in fact, it was. We are not militarily arrayed against the Warsaw Pact in Europe any longer, and, if I recall correctly, we officially announce the "de- targeting" of the former Soviet Union awhile back. Sorry, your attempted case fails on its face. The Cold War was so clearly not over after the missile crisis, it is silly to even try to push the notion.
