Cary, you are probably right about AMAT not being involved
with OLED manufacturing. From what I have read this technology is ink jetted onto the substrates using a specially modified ink jet technology. The market potential however is HUGE, if certain engineering/ materials issues can be resolved. There is a very large
development effort underway to bring this technology to
fruition....it could make display pricing very inexpensive
to manufacture once perfected, since it would not require
ultra-expensive manufacturing equipment to produce a product. I expect this technology to be available within
18 months, and it will put a huge dent in the current
LED display market and equipment manufacturing. BB
