mxim st bot 4k@49.07, This is very tempting. Willing to keep for the long haul if need be. We may have few more days of this to go before we turn around. mxim reports after the close.

From MarketTrading.com

Semiconductor Index (Philadelphia:^SOXX): The SOX bounced off the 50-ma this morning and led a bid to the NDX as a whole. The Semis are in an interesting position, and they alone might propel the Tech Sector to higher highs, or lead a more pronounced pullback. What we will need to watch is how the SOX reacts in the next few sessions. The ideal entry was this morning, when the SOX opened a smidge above the all-important 50 ma. Go long, place a very tight stop a shade below the 50ma...and you have a wonderful risk vs. reward trade. Once the sector was up a 10 spot by lunch, you move your stop up to breakeven and essentially have a risk free trade (barring overnight gaps if you hold overnight). For those of you who missed this trade, be patient. If the SOX trades below the 50 ma, then you can put out a short, and use the 50 as your stop on the upside. It is the mirror opposite of this morning's open trade. The longer-term folk should wait to see how this congestion pans out. Keep in mind that the longer-term charts show severe resistance ahead around 555 and 577. If the SOX can break 600, she will be off and running.
