Ted, We consume 25% of the world's oil production. The ME will hard pressed to find a replacement.

I hear some of the two billion people living in China and India might want new cars ...

If civil war should break out in say Iran and/or Syria, how much higher will the price per barrel go and what will that do to our economy?

Good point, though I think that really highlights the need to stay in the region and enforce stability ourselves, AND with all the help we can muster from the U.N. Sure, there are a lot of things the Iraqis and other Middle Easterners will need to learn on their own, but with good carrot-n-stick measures, the West can guide them on the right path.

P.S. - I cleaned house today and sold everything. Tech, nat. gas, you name it. Knowing my perfect record of selling at lows, you should buy all you can in after hours today. :-(
