IMO it would work for individual stocks as well as QQQ.

Example. QQQ is presently at or near the 50dMA at 36ish, which also looks to be a horizontal support line. The above average is around 37ish +/-. By his way of trading the buy would be at 36 with the sell just above 37...this is only on about a 3 day time span though. I think he is doing this very, very short term.

The underlying MACD,RSI and STOCH's are all approaching 14 day oversold conditions so I'd say the trade would have very little downside. Now, the big test for the longer term holder (yeah, right) will be that the faster MA does not cross under the slower 50dMA. If that happens then the dark side is the place to be.
