Steven is the epitome of the anti-semitic left--no not anti-semetic in the traditional sense but so virulently anti-israel that it just has to be somethng more than fp differences. When I read exchanges like yours with steven I cannot come to any other conclusion.

"Kinda like he considers that Israel alone was born in Original Sin, "

and the arab states are somehow solely victims of western imperialism which israel is continuing. I kinda give up with these folks especially when they are clearly as intelligent as steven and john m and the lot.

I've never seen anyone post on SI about the Stark incident. Though for some reason, lots of people have a lot better memory about the Liberty incident.

They seem to be very parallel incidents. In both cases, there was no logical motive for the attack. The US was Israel's only ally at the time of the Liberty incident. And the Stark, by defending the oil shipments of the Arab states financing Saddam's war, was effectively working in Iraq's interest.

BTW, similarly I have no doubt the US had no intention of shooting down a civilian Iranian airliner or bombing the Chinese embassy in Belgrade.
