albert, It is kind of like an infantry man being told he can't see his rifle until the shooting starts. <G> Other requirements can be silly, too. I was with a unit where we carried little 13 round Browning .380 pistols. They wouldn't hurt anyone, but they were easily concealable. We were never allowed on the range with them. We had to qualify with rifles, which we never carried, and Govt. .45s, which we didn't carry. Other guys had to guard vital places carrying rifles, but weren't allowed to carry ammo. Later on, those fellas were each issued 4 rounds for their M-14s. <G>
