When you are old, you can only look back. When you are young, you can only look forward, seeing what you don't have yet. At middle age, you see both ways, but without the clear vision of youth or old age. The clarity of vision had by the old and young is really only a firmly held delusion. The only really clear memory is that of the now. We must find ways to enjoy where we are now even if only by remembering. Now is all we have for certain, though. I'm glad you had the fortune to record a "now" when it was especially good so that it may aid you in times where "now" isn't that good.
