Lots of interaction with other homeschoolers. Volleyball, baseball, soccer through the Y and/or Parks and Rec. Many public school activities are open to HSers (my daughter is in a PS band). Sure they may be less "worldly" buy likely more mature AND focused.

These are all the standard "yeah, but" concerns that non-homeschoolers have - valid concerns, but ones that most HSers have figured out how to manage.

Actually the REAL gotcha for homeschoolers is learning to deal with real world DEADLINES. A HS parent may accept that the kid is "not quite ready" for the next test and postpone it by a day or week, which can establish a very bad precedent and behavior for the student. Once the HSer IS in the real world, deadlines that DON'T change can be a real shock.
