Senators have no say over court cases in their state. Do you understand fundamental civics in this country? Kerry is anti gay marriage, but pro civil rights. That gay marriage issue is a dog which won't hunt against Kerry. Against Dean though it might have worked. Much of DEan's support comes from the gay community. The campaign tried to organize a fundraiser for Kerry with gays and had to cancel it. The gays had all gone over to Dean. Another fun fact, Cheney's daughter is a top lesbian activist. And Reagan's son is gay too.
