I dont think its that. I think that Pres. Bush and most people would rather NOT have to go through the ordeal of a Constitutional Amendment. They take YEARS to enact, although I have little doubt it would be voted on favorable by sufficient states. I think what he was doing is using the Bully pulpit to persuade judges to use common sense. jdn

Yes seems to be saying YES to constitutional amendment banning gay marriage, while also saying YES let the states decide on civil unions.

It will be interesting when one of these cases gets to the US Supreme Court.
