Nope, Searchie.... rather it's 'Buddy's rule #1 of rhetorical equivalence'. If someone deals honestly and with politeness with me --- I endeavor to extend the same relationship to them... whether I agree or not with their particular viewpoints. However, if someone deliberately lowers themself to the level of utilizing lies... and aims same in my direction... I reserve to myself the right to respond at the same lowered level, with lies in kind. While not classical rhetoric... 'Rule 1 of Rhetorical Equivalence' never-the-less assures a sort of roughly level playing field, albeit at a 'street rhetoric' kind of level.
