Far as I know, marraige was FIRST determined by religious beliefs. Later, much later, it became a civil union I imagin in part at least to make a contractual obligation. Now these Judges ONLY look to the civil portion and not the religious aspect. Frankly, I have a feeling if such laws are allowed to stand there is going to be many problems that will likely effect ALL of us. For instance take SS. Spouse can collect on workers benefits, Pensions, you can elect to withdraw over the combined estimated lifespans of both spouses, etc etc. By allowing a small minority to have their way with the law the law may have to be changed to hurt us all. Wonder if these Liberal types have thought of that? jdn
