T, That war was very reminiscent of this Bush boondoggle. We had press idiots, Hearst/Pulitzer then, Murdoch/Ailes now, whipping up the hoi polloi. Our govt. invented an "incident" and had it hyped by their pet newspapers. Macho types were eager to take on a weak 3rd world power to test their man juice. And the enemy had stuff we could steal, oil now, the Philippine harbors and Cuba then. Teddy Roosevelt charging up San Juan Hill is very similar to our tanks taking out Saddam's Toyota pickups. Not to knock Teddy or our tankers. Both rode into the unknown danger very bravely.
