At the same time the country is being convinced that it is a travesty of justice to use the law to mold the behavior of citizens in certain ways (i.e. marriage laws) the country is being convince that a deluged of laws intended to mold behavior of citizens is a crucial role for government (e.g. anti-smoking laws, fat taxes, on and on and on.)

I am more disgusted by the growing incoherency of the civil debate than any particular trend.

I always wonder wonder a legally polygamous foreign shiek and his many wives would have to do if they became a US citizen.
