if you don't live in a state that helps you pay for a solar install, the costs are still quite high... part of the problem. were subsidies to end, solar panel providers would have to have more efficient pricing and a broader buying market. until then, subsidies have hurt non subsidized markets.

but... gw thinks it's okay to spend 1.5 billion on hydrogen cars.... most of which the current technology is owned by, guess who?, the oil majors.
