I guess the most pertinent question is that if the playing field is fairly level then why do overwhelming numbers and percentages of people follow the devices of their own hearts and not follow God.

Under the law only a race of peoples were saved with few exceptions. God was preparing the way for grace. It seemed that under the law or under the patriarchs God saved whom he would and those who perished were those whom he would.

Yes it seemed predestination was entrenched, with only a few exceptions. However the predestinationists are way off and do not have a clue of the real personality of God.

But the law was a precursor of grace. What God was preparing the world for was the day when the flood gate would be opened wide and God would say

"whosoever will believe" "Jew or Gentile". As spoken again the everlasting covenant was to be with Israel and eventually the flood gate shall be closed and again with a few exceptions only a few will be saved.

However what ever dispensation we on this earth live under only a few seem to get it or believe. Even under grace when the flood gates are wide open only a few will accept the invitation.

The greatest mystery of all. The question that I believe most people answer wrongly is why would a loving God send anyone to hell especially a great guy like me or a great woman like me.

They just do not believe God will do it. The answer is that he will. Why?

Would an earthly judge sentence someone for drunk driving when just about all the judges I know are drinkers. Well would a loving God send someone to hell and God has never sinned. The answer is yes but why.

This is splitting hairs but it is not really the judge that sentences you to jail but in an around way it is the law of the state you reside in. Thus is with God. It is actually the law that condemns the sinner. God can be wonderful and still loving and still sentence or pronounce sentence....for transgression of the laws of the realm....

<<Why would anyone let their "intellect" or "logic" make them give up an eternal destiny?>>

It's not just a question of intellect or logic, it is also a question of ethics and morality.

Before accepting eternal destiny, an ethical person would ponder the conditions necessary to accept that destiny. If the person could not in good conscience accept those conditions, then an ethical or moral person must reject eternal destiny, even though it is to his disadvantage to do so.
