JakeStraw, there are dogmatists and idealogues in the Bush camp. You know what they are going to say or how they are going to act. You know Cheney is for the oil industry, you know Rumsfeld gets a lot of special interest favors from the socio-military complex. Right now we do not have anyone (except for Colin Powell) in the Bush gang who would listen to all sides of an argument, understand what the issues are at that particular time and make a decision which is best for all at that time.

Bush's theory is "either you are with us or you are against us" Life is not that black and white. Let us not forget the rainbow. Let us be realists. Kerry is a realist.

If you saw a military budget where items suggested are a waste, is not good military planning for the next 20 years, you would surely vote against the military budget. That is what he did when he was in the Senate. That is how he explained it in on TV yesterday. As always, Bush has demonstrated the ne is incompetent in understanding the merits and demerits of a issue. That is why he sanctions Karl Rove to go out with that Kerry attack that "he voted against a military budget in the 80's". Today Rumsfeld is voting against expanding the military personnel. Does it mean that he is against defence. HEck no. What I am not telling the world is that he is also advocating that modern warfare will be fought with weaponry instead of armies and men in combat. So let us separate propaganda and really understand the issues.
