Fatty, I think your cousin is the exceptional case: she got a job during the absolute worst hightech downturn in history and possibly the second or third worst financial stock downturn in history.

A IT major in finance was the absolutely hardest hit area after Telco.

She's not average.

And you shouldn't treat her like average. Set higher expectations. If she's making $30k in one of the hardest hit area, during one of the worst downturns, she's likely to have smooth sailing in her future years.

True. Didn't you see my post on how I think the govt should promote a savings program, possibly even fund it for the lower income folks to jump start people?
