Too late - the debt already exists in their collective name. But I bet they can still listen to Shrub give speeches about fiscal responsibility this summer and fall. Contradictions don't seem to have much impact on his speeches.....

Well, IMO, the real question is whether this government even takes its "debt" seriously. The inability of the administration to manage its debt reminds me of some weird hybrid of a crack-addict and a shopping-channel-aholic. Gotta spend, gotta spend, gotta spend.... After awhile, you've got to wonder who will be willing to give these guys fresh plastic so that they can go out and spend more. Frankly, I don't see any way out and I think things may end very, very badly.
