Josh, The democrats of the WW2 era had no choice but to pull out all stops to win that war. FDR had screwed up by having the entire Pacific fleet massed in Pearl Harbor, and needed to make amends to the American people, so he put the best military minds we had available in charge, and turned them loose on our enemies. After Pearl, every red blooded American was itching for a fight, and it didn't matter who was President. Things are different these days, and a strong leader, that will not pussy foot around a problem, is vital to the continuance of, what we used to call, the American way. Unfortunately, we have to use that "big stick" that Teddy Roosevelt mentioned more often than some realize.

For anyone to compare Bush to Hitler, is another indication of their panic, and fear, that they may lose their precious government projects that will lead to total dependence. The only way the citizens of any nation can be under, absolute, rule, is to put them in a situation that dictates they be totally dependent on the government, with no chance of being an independent, individualistic, person with some semblance of true freedom.
