I'm over 40 and I went through reaganomics (I was a kid though)- also I remember the bad 70s period because my father owned a bunch of car dealerships.

The major difference then, aside from now is that US companies were declining globally, not prospering as is the case today. Also the white collar workforce was in fine shape then. Todays unemployment rate of over 10% for US engineers is the highest EVER. Higher than the post space program nasa period, even. Ask any college job placement office, they have never seen it this bad. Harvard says 03 was worse than any period since WWII. Even Harvard MBAs can't get professional jobs.

Well, it looks like Larry Kudlow and the "investor class" who think things are great vs. everybody else.
