If your theory were in any way representative of how things work then the countries with the largest populations would always beat out those countries with smaller populations. It would be unlikely that the larger school would have to cheat in order to win against the smaller one.

Now imagine for a minute an entire population (small as it is) that resided on the left hand side of the world wide normal distribution and the other larger country has residents that reside primarily in the thickest part of the bell curve or even primarily on the right hand side of the distribution. You think this can't occur but it does in many different areas. Take the worldwide distribution of incomes for an example, US vs Africa. It would be an obvious mistake to say 300 million of Africa's riches citizens beat out the entire US in income simply because you are taking the top percent and putting it against our whole which includes many people below the worldwide median.

hey fatty, thanks for trying. i enjoy your dialogue.

where is that neocom quote? the one slapping us with the fact that data doesn't matter. unfortunately, judgment slides back to testimonial as all-persuasive. just give me a good talking head. we gotta realize that we're just too damn busy to run the numbers....wasn't reagan driving down a shoreline highway the other day saying all is well? gramps knows best.
