Elroy, don't make me laugh. Our "welfare" economy was doing OK here and far better than many other places, too, while Clinton and all his predecessors were in office and long before the 9/11 sea-change in government spending. Please accept my apologies that the government is located on the East Coast instead of YOUR coast. We can't help that. It's been here for centuries. Too bad your state government squandered your own Silicon Valley/boomland advantage with its own policies. The whining out of California appears to be reaching new heights here. What happened to the myth that California was the "promised land" and has long been the destination of choice for just about everyone? Please don't tell me this idea is dead.
