I'm a very practical person Amy. I don't like giant corporations, you're right. We grant corporations the legal status of people (minus the vote), yet corporations exist only to make profits, which in itself isn't bad. Some corporations ARE good, but they are the extreme minority in my experience. Much more common are corporations that harness the greed of their employees and stockholders, sacrificing the common good and general welfare for the corporate profit. I'm investing in India and China because it's easier to pick winners there - almost all the boats are rising. Check the returns of the portfolios on the threads I mentioned.
You seem sort of idealistic, in a Republican kind of way. I've been there, done that, suppose I'm a lot more cynical today.
