The funeral games for Arafat are beginning, even if the old terrorist is still breathing. Chaos is no skin off Arafat's nose; indeed, he has always preferred a good measure of it, because it makes Arafat-the-walking-Palestinian-flag more valuable as the only thing holding the mess together.

There is clearly a huge undercurrent of dissent from those who know that the intifada has been a huge mistake. I saw this yesterday in Ha'aretz. The authors sound optomistic about change. I don't know if they're on to something or not:
