B Fred, You remind me of a very important point which I didn't point out. You have to live in or near the city where the property is. Otherwise it is too much trouble scouting it out and afterwards managing it. When you become rich you can hire managers etc. and you don't have to live anywhere close to it. I suppose that if Slovenia real estate has a bright future, even Dolinar Janko couldn't take advantage of it because he's not living there.
Also the town or city has to be a growing one. I'm confident that somebody who lives in the middle of a forest in Nova Scotia won't make money in real estate. A nephew bought some land there 20 plus years, ago. Just kept up with inflation.
