Then why are you religious types so reluctant to get involved in a truly academic discussion

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.

"Academic discussions" are irrelevant and will not end your own spiritual starvation, in fact, such discussions will only serve to worsen your present condition... certainly, you can give a starving man a candy bar, and he'll feel better for the moment, but it will hardly provide him the genuine nourishment and nutrition he needs to satisfy and satiate his long term hunger... and so it is with your endless pursuit of those academic discussions, they are the very cause of your current spiritual malnutrition...
