There were nine independent candidates and Kerry won. What Independent candidate are you talking about. People want jobs and healthcare. They do not want to waste their vote.

That's exactly how Clinton was elected. The conservative vote split between Bush/Ross Perot & Clinton received 100% of Dem votes--enough for victory.
