Cultivating the "fourth estate" is a part of the game Ray, Dean misfired lock, stock and barrel. He put his 40 million dollars in Iowa. He gambled. And when he failed to secure Iowa, he had no fallback funding. His strategy of spending all his money in Iowa is the sole and the only reason for his downfall and nothing else Otherwise how do you explain Edwards and Clark still in the race even when Dean is second in Michigan and Washington. It is not the press. It is Dean himself.
