Schieffer has had a few editorial comments that lead me to believe he is not a Bush policy guy. In fact last night Russert interviewed Schieffer for a new book promo (this is russert's "b" show on CNBC) and Schieffer AND Russert were positively giddy about the prospects of a Bush defeat. Especially Schieffer, Russert has a better poker face. Then they said, it was really the "story" of a close race that journalists hungered for (which I doubt very seriously is the KEY reason). All these news guys are panicking about their bias after the 02 republican landslide vote and Fox ratings during Iraq. But these next elections will swing things back to the middle imho.
