longnshort. Not so. By a strange quirk, I was the person who suggested to the save the seals group that seal pups be dyed with a permanent dye to make their fur unsaleable.(ask Gregory Bryce for confirmation of this fact)
It worked quite well, they used a color that polar bears could not see, alizarin purple or some such. But seal hunters opted for the counter strategy of killing all dyed pups on principal, thus making the strategy a sure death sentence for those easily seen by human eyes -colored baby seals.

The most effective antisealing campaign was by those models who went on stage wearing fur over blood, that killed sales permanently, and they have not come back.
Now we have canine distemper virus killing seals as they have become overpopulated since the fur market waned so dramatically.
